 Bio

Hi, I'm John.

Growing up in Ireland, Gaelic football and hurling weren't just sports – they were my way out of crippling shyness. Being decent at sport gave me confidence I couldn't find anywhere else, and ever since then, some form of physical activity has been non-negotiable.

Then university hit at 18. I stopped playing, gained weight, and for the first time in my life, I was properly out of shape. That's what drove me into the gym and onto the roads.

What drew me to OMNIA was simple: the ethos. The idea that you don't have to be a pro to take your training seriously. I saw a brand speaking to everyday athletes trying to get better at everything while balancing life, work, and responsibilities. Being a hybrid athlete, to me, is about range. Strong enough to lift heavy, fit enough to run far, and disciplined enough to keep showing up for both.

I take my training seriously, but I'm not giving up the occasional pint or dinner out with my wife for the sake of shaving minutes off my marathon time. It's about balance, consistency, and proving to yourself that you belong here.

Outside of training, I play guitar in an acoustic duo with my wife – we gig around Edinburgh's Irish bars. I'm a Formula 1 fanatic and a long-suffering Man United supporter, which is more punishment than pleasure these days. And you’ll find me listening to podcasts while working out instead of music.

I've spent years in jobs that paid the bills but never lit me up. This is the first time I feel like I'm in the right place, surrounded by people who get it. My job here is to help others see that they belong, that there's no one "right" way to train, and that they're part of something bigger than themselves.
