Hi, I’m James.
I’ve been the athlete chasing big goals like a spot on the GB Rugby 7s squad and I’ve been the guy recovering from surgery, watching opportunities pass me by.
So I know the highs of pushing for BIG goals and the lows of falling short of them. But these experiences have given me the insights and lessons I use to help OMNIA athletes embrace the wins along their journeys instead of getting tunnel vision on their end goal.
At OMNIA, I’m responsible for ensuring our athletes feel capable in every part of their life. I bring structure, strategy, and zero fluff to their programming and coaching. If something’s not useful, it doesn’t go in the plan. If it adds noise, it gets cut.
My own training now is about feeling grounded and clear-headed. The goal isn’t to max out as much (although we all love a full send session from time to time) I want to stay ready, lead by example, and enjoy all the benefits hybrid training brings.
Outside of OMNIA, I’m either cooking Thai food for friends, out on the trails, or rewatching The Empire Strikes Back for the 473rd time. I also train to the Sweet Soul Sunday playlist which has got me a lifetime ban from the aux cord at OMNIA HQ but I highly recommend you try it some time.
The best part of this job is seeing the switch flip in an athlete to go from “I hope I can” to “I know I will”. That’s the moment I’m here for.
