Hi, I'm Fergus.
Rugby was everything to me growing up. The team, the training, the whole identity wrapped around it. Then three concussions in four weeks ended that chapter abruptly. Suddenly, I wasn't "the rugby player" anymore.
Like a lot of people who lose their thing, I threw myself into something else. Powerlifting became my new obsession. I got properly strong, started coaching mates at Durham, and chased numbers like they meant everything. For a while, they did. Until 2016, when the wheels completely came off.
I was in a dark place. Depression hit hard, and I genuinely didn't think I'd make it through. Getting my French Bulldog probably saved my life. Having something that needed me every day gave me a reason to keep going, and slowly, very slowly, I started putting myself back together.
That's when I learned something important: the hardest challenges often lead to the best discoveries about yourself.
These days, I take on ridiculous physical challenges (world records, charity events, the kind of stuff that makes people ask "why would you do that”?), but it's not about proving anything anymore. It's about staying curious, staying ready, and remembering that we're all capable of more than we think.
OMNIA grew from that mindset. It's for people who've been knocked down, who've had to rebuild, who know that the easy path isn't always the right path. No ego, no bullshit – just honest coaching for people who want to push their boundaries intelligently.
When I'm not training or working, you'll find me rewatching Peep Show for the millionth time, blasting Metallica or pretending I'm still 14 with some Blink182. I've read Lord of the Rings 14 times (and counting), and I once got banned from a gym in London for dropping a 240kg squat.
Look, I'm not here to sell you some perfect transformation story. Life's messy, training is hard, and we all struggle with stuff. But I've learned that having the right approach – and the right people in your corner – makes all the difference.
That's what I'm here for. To help you figure out what you're capable of, with a bit of structure, a decent amount of challenge, and hopefully some laughs along the way.
